Sydney’s newest food and lifestyle destination, ‘Newmarket Dining’, reveals its first stage featuring five flagship venues in the heart of Randwick.
The urban culinary sanctuary, developed by Cbus Property, will be home to restaurants including Baccomatto Osteria, RaRa Randwick, Cali Press, Café Mckenzie and barbershop Barber Signature, marking the first milestone in the phased unveiling.
Hatted Italian restaurant Baccomatto Osteria launches in the fresh location to the delight of its cult-like following, after its move from Surry Hills. Bringing the signature Italian hand-made pasta to Randwick, the same team will be dishing up a combination of beloved favourites such as slow cooked Rigatoni Ragù with experimental specials based on Roman inspired cuisine. The open plan kitchen, booth seating and large floor-to-ceiling windows invites a sense of sharing and buzz synonymous with Italian cuisine.
RaRa Randwick is a fun Japanese diner that takes Ramen seriously. The noodle-making machine imported from Japan reels out fresh, springy noodles for the RaRa signature dish. With high stools surrounding the bar and kitchen and bright amber neon lighting, guests would be forgiven for thinking they’d stepped onto the streets of Tokyo.
Cali Press has recently launched its 2.0 concept which sees one of the pioneers of cold-pressed juices taking its health-driven approach to nutritious food. Seasonal salad bowls include the famous Cali Harvest with grilled chicken, goat’s feta, freshly sliced apple and sunflower seeds and the Miso glazed pumpkin, spicy slaw, pickled veg.
Coffee lovers will also rejoice with the launch of an all new concept, Café Mckenzie, serving specialty blended coffee and a Middle Eastern menu specially formulated for Newmarket diners. The all new family-oriented café is named after the owner’s 6-month-old daughter and features intimate seating areas as well as a long communal table, an inviting feature for families and large groups.
Nestled amongst the range of eateries, Barber Signature brings the expert craftsmanship of a skilled master barber to both the men AND women of Randwick, flipping the traditional barber shop on its head.
The food precinct is surrounded by outdoor dining amenities, strung with fairy lights and surrounded by lush urban jungle gardens. The new neighbourhood celebrates diversity and a sense of community for locals with a large playground zone for younger children and communal BBQ and public seating areas for families soon to open.
The complete launch of Newmarket Dining will be announced in March.
