Stage 2 works

The parkside residences are known as ‘Stage 2’ of the Newmarket Randwick masterplan, comprising Young & Fennelly (116 residences) and Jane St. Terraces (38 terraces). These are located on Young Street and Fennelly Street.

The Stage 2 site is bounded by Young Street to the east, Fennelly Street to the south and existing houses to the west and north, fronting Botany and Middle streets respectively. This area has been outlined in blue in the map provided.

Overview of works

The key works being undertaken include site establishment, excavation and piling, structure works, façade, fitout works and landscaping.

31 May 2022 – Construction site establishment

Site establishment involved preparing the site for the works and generally included items such as erecting secure engineered Type A hoarding, delivery and installation of site sheds and amenities, remedial activities and readying the site to execute the approved works.

The  site establishment commenced on 31 May 2022 and included truck deliveries and hoarding installation along Young Street. Following establishment, main construction works will commence in late June 2022.

Late June 2022 – Initial works

Initial works will involve the installation of in-ground piling and bulk excavation. These works are anticipated to continue to November 2022 and will involve increased truck movements and periods of elevated noise. All works will be carefully coordinated with additional traffic management and noise and vibration monitoring.

Construction traffic, including unloading zones, will be managed in accordance with the Traffic Management Plan. Construction dust, noise and vibration levels will be monitored during construction hours and mitigation measures implemented as and when required by the approved plans.

Hours of work

The approved hours of work are:

·       Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm

·       Saturday: 8am – 5pm

No work will take place on Sundays or public holidays. Please note, there may be instances where out-of-hours or “one-off” activities may be required to safely facilitate these works (for example, a large machinery delivery). As such, we will endeavour to provide as much notice about these activities when required.
