Construction Update: It's all happening at Newmarket
With 2018 drawing swiftly to a close, we are pleased to update you on the ongoing transformation of Cbus Property’s Newmarket development into to one of the East’s most desired lifestyle precincts.
This outstanding new neighbourhood will be one that celebrates diversity: through the distinct and elegant architecture of its residences, its unique outdoor spaces, retail amenities and of course a vibrant community. Construction is progressing at a steady pace and we welcome you to watch Newmarket come to life here in real time.
Slab work is still the main activity on site, but we have also been installing the pre-cast columns that form an important structural and architectural element across several buildings, including the Western and Eastern Newmarket Residences.
From our Viewing Platform you will be able to view the retail spaces at ground level, now stripped back of formwork and exciting to see.
At Figtree Pocket, Grandview’s structure has now ‘topped out’. A builder’s rite, known as ‘topping out’ is when the last slab is placed on top of the building. A ceremony is often held to mark the occasion, a practice stretching back to ancient Scandinavia when builders would place a tree on top of a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced by its construction.
We continue forming and pouring lower level slabs to Oakview, Carrington and Cambridge alongside pre-cast panel installation.
Retail, Park & Playground
We have started works to transform the Sales Ring into what is going to become an incredible Children’s Playground.
We have launched a marketing campaign to garner interest from Australia’s best lifestyle food and beverage operators for Newmarket Residences’ ground floor retail spaces.
When on site, you can see how your new home is progressing first hand from our viewing platform. Just contact our Display Suite team to organise an appointment over the holiday period.
Unfortunately, we will be commencing demolition of the building in February 2019, so we urge that you book an appointment before then.
